Our Foundations
The Human Initiative has two everlasting tenets.
1. We strive to protect and strengthen human quality of life and values in a world shaped by Artificial Intelligence.
2. We are an open collaboration. Every human has the right to be heard and to help shape how The Human Initiative works to protect humanity’s wellbeing and values in an age of AI.

Our Guiding Principles
How we will fulfil our two tenets
1. Recognition and Encouragement
We celebrate people and organisations that use Artificial Intelligence responsibly — those improving human life, protecting dignity, and advancing knowledge for the benefit of everyone.
2. Accountability and Exposure
We bring transparency to the use of AI.
When technology is used for greed, control, or harm, we report it openly — encouraging positive change through awareness, evidence, and public dialogue.
3. Continuous Research and Understanding
We study how Artificial Intelligence affects society, wellbeing, and purpose — helping humanity make informed, ethical decisions about its future.
4. Investment in Shared Progress
We support and fund AI projects that aim to benefit all people — including research into how societies can thrive with fewer traditional jobs and greater freedom to live well.
5. Open Collaboration and Evolution
The Human Initiative is built by everyone.
We invite people from all backgrounds to contribute ideas and insights, and even these guiding principles will evolve through open discussion and shared learning.

FAQs
Is the Human Initiative’s intention to protect jobs?
Not necessarily. We will research how to protect and enhance every person’s quality of life throughout the AI-driven transition, while ensuring that organisations remain able to innovate, develop, and stay economically competitive. Central to our mission is a long-term vision of a future society where all people have the freedom and security to pursue their vocation; whether in art, science, education, craftsmanship, caregiving, or any other field, without fear of economic displacement or loss of human dignity. Our work seeks to identify balanced frameworks where human wellbeing and organisational progress reinforce one another rather than compete.
Can I apply to be a part of the team?
Yes! Please do! Together we’re stronger. We depend on people with a range of lived experience to shape our organisation and shape our future society for everyone.
